I found your point about the extra challenges especially interesting. I’d love to examine this additional point of treating members of the minority uniformly in other readings.
Your examples of the methods and programs that are currently being implemented to promote diversity in the technology industry are definitely at the forefront of tech careers trend. The study you quoted from the International Journal of Gender, Science and Technology is one indication of the fact that the tech industry has to break from the assumption that everyone is given the same support and encouragement to pursue computer science and, in turn, “promoting diversity” programs are unnecessary.” Unfortunately, it is not the only indication.
